Kids Cars and Coffee — Event Acknowledgment of Risks and Release of Liability
Version KCC-EVENT-2026-10-26-v2 · October 26, 2026
Event covered: The free, voluntary, public outdoor Kids Cars & Coffee community event tentatively planned for Saturday, January 30, 2027, 9:00 a.m.–noon, in the Temecula/Murrieta area, including check-in and authorized event setup and breakdown. The final venue, date, rules and attendance are not yet confirmed. This request does not reserve a place. If material event details change, KCC may require a new acknowledgment before admission. This agreement does not automatically cover other events.
1. What the event is—and is not
KCC brings families, young people, car enthusiasts and working professionals together for visible, supervised group conversations, career exploration and stationary vehicle displays. It is not a childcare or drop-off program, a driving school, a ride-along or test-drive opportunity, a vehicle-repair workshop, or private one-on-one mentoring. General public visitors may be present at this outdoor gathering.
2. Outdoor, public-event and vehicle risks
Attendance is voluntary. The outdoor setting includes parking areas, nearby vehicle arrivals and departures, moving traffic, pedestrians, displays, equipment, weather and temperature changes, sun or heat exposure, noise, food or allergens, crowds, uneven or wet surfaces, trips, falls, illness, and potential injury or property damage. Serious injury or death is possible where vehicles operate. Vehicles must remain parked during the display except when authorized event personnel direct a licensed operator through designated arrival or departure procedures; no burnouts, racing, demonstrations, rides, or test drives are part of the event. I will obey signs and staff directions, supervise those in my care, avoid restricted vehicle areas, and report hazards immediately.
3. Voluntary participation and inherent risks
I understand that KCC and the venue cannot eliminate all hazards or guarantee an injury-free event. I may decline an activity I believe is unsafe and may leave using safe access routes. To the extent permitted by California law, I knowingly accept ordinary inherent risks of the covered activity for myself and, if authorized, for participating minor child(ren) in my care.
4. Release limited to ordinary negligence
PLEASE READ: TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY CALIFORNIA LAW, I RELEASE KIDS CARS AND COFFEE, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AUTHORIZED EVENT VOLUNTEERS FROM CLAIMS FOR PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM THEIR ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE IN CONNECTION WITH THE COVERED EVENT. This release does not cover gross negligence, reckless or willful misconduct, intentional harm, fraud, violation of law, nonwaivable statutory duties, or any claim that California law does not permit to be released. Nothing here eliminates KCC's safety responsibilities.
5. Minors, legal authority and family supervision
A person under 18 may participate only with a parent or legal guardian, or another adult expressly authorized by the parent/legal guardian for this event and accepted by KCC. A parent or legal guardian must sign the minor's event paperwork; an accompanying adult who is not the legal guardian cannot sign the minor's release merely by accompanying them. This public event is not a drop-off program; the designated adult must remain onsite and supervise the minor throughout the event. Before attendance is confirmed, KCC may request a separate attendance entry for each minor, the identity of the responsible accompanying adult, written guardian authorization when applicable, and appropriate emergency contact information. Do not put children's full names or medical details in this preliminary RSVP form. Any release affecting a minor is effective only as far as California law allows.
6. Car owners, volunteers, speakers and safe contact
I will follow KCC Program Rules & Youth Safety, posted site rules and instructions from the Event Safety Lead. A general RSVP does not approve anyone to serve as a volunteer, car owner, guest speaker or youth-facing helper. KCC may require role-specific screening, orientation and further agreements before assigning a youth-facing role. No unsupervised one-on-one adult/minor interactions, private messages with participating minors, private transport, or exchange of private contact details through KCC activities are permitted. Young volunteers may not move vehicles, direct traffic or supervise vehicle access. Only authorized, licensed drivers may move cars in controlled areas under event/venue direction.
7. Emergencies and safety reporting
For an immediate emergency, call 911. Report safety issues, accidents, boundary concerns or suspected abuse promptly to the designated Event Safety Lead or the check-in team; serious safety or child-protection concerns may be reported directly to appropriate outside authorities. KCC may separate participants, halt activities, remove unsafe vehicles or persons, and document incidents. KCC is not a medical provider and does not replace the responsibility of a parent or supervising adult to care for their child. Prior to confirmed attendance, KCC may request an emergency contact or essential accommodation details through an appropriately restricted process.
8. Separate and optional youth photo choices
Signing this event waiver does not grant KCC permission to publish a child's image. Parents/legal guardians may select a separate Event Photo Preference for each minor: KCC images may be shared; internal use only; or do not photograph. Declining publication does not by itself disqualify a family from ordinary event attendance. KCC will communicate and apply recorded preferences to its own staff and authorized photographers, but it cannot guarantee control of images taken independently by unrelated visitors at an outdoor public event. The optional Photo & Media Consent page is for separately submitted media, not an automatic condition of attendance. Contact support@kidscarsandcoffee.com to update a preference or request review of KCC-published media.
9. Electronic acknowledgment, signature and final confirmation
I confirm that I am 18 or older, have read this entire agreement, had the opportunity to ask questions, and intend my typed full legal name and acknowledgment checkbox on the RSVP form to serve as my electronic signature in the capacity selected. If I select parent/legal guardian, I affirm that I have legal authority to act for the participating minor(s). KCC records the event ID, document version, signed name, selected capacity and submission time. A matching typed name is not independent verification of identity or legal guardianship. KCC may request additional authorization or a new signature after the venue and individual minor details are confirmed. This request does not guarantee attendance, an assigned role, or school service hours.
California law governs this agreement. Any provision found unenforceable shall be treated only to the extent permitted by law; no term is intended to release nonwaivable rights or excuse statutory duties.
